Art created specifically for screen printing needs thoughtful preparation

The artist needs to know how to use the program of choice to create the digital art. In addition, he must be aware of the medium he will use (e.g. screen printing, embroidery) and understand the interactions between the inks and the substrate. In this example, the substrate is the black t-shirt. The black color of the t-shirt must be neutralized in some parts, while in others, allowed to show through. Doing so eliminates the need for black ink and saves us one ink color.
